home decor, room by room
honest picks, plus the ones we almost got wrong

how a pick gets made
Every page starts from one real room and works outward. Nothing is listed because it ranks well or pays well — it is listed because it is in the photo and doing a job.
Dimensions, materials and prices come from the listing, never from memory. Where a spec is not known, it stays blank rather than guessed.
Every page names something that did not make it, or a real drawback of something that did. A page with no near-miss is a page with nothing at stake.
Some links are affiliate links and a commission may be earned on a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost. That arrangement has never decided a pick, which is why the near-misses stay in. Full terms on the disclosure page.
